GHOST Board Failure Symptoms and Exchange Replacement

A GHOST board symptom can look like a larger system failure because the board participates in critical scanner communication and control paths. Confirm the failing assembly before ordering an exchange replacement.

Symptoms that need structured diagnosis

Intermittent startup faults, communication errors, subsystem dropouts, repeated resets or a scanner that fails after warming up may justify a GHOST board investigation. These symptoms can also come from power, cabling, connectors or another controller.

Record whether the symptom is repeatable, which subsystem disappears, and whether reseating or a power cycle changes the result. That history helps separate a board fault from an installation or connection issue.

How exchange replacement works

Boards are supplied on exchange basis only: once the failing assembly is confirmed, a compatible bench-tested unit is dispatched and your original board is returned to us. This keeps downtime short and costs predictable. We do not sell boards outright and do not undertake board repair for customers.

Ask for the board number, revision, scanner model and a clear photo of the label. Compatibility should be confirmed before any board is installed.

  • Confirm the failing assembly before ordering
  • Exchange: a tested compatible assembly is dispatched to site
  • Return: your original board comes back to us as the exchange unit

After the board is changed

A board replacement is not complete when the scanner starts. The system may need configuration, calibration, functional checks and image-quality verification. Keep the replacement details and final service report with the equipment record.

Browse the GHOST board topic page for catalogue matching, or send the board number and system model to the parts team for confirmation.
